Saint Elizabeth of Hungary

Saint Elizabeth of Thuringia

Saint Elizabeth of Thuringia, by Francisco de Zurbarán (1598–1664). From Wikipedia

O merciful God, enlighten the hearts of thy faithful people,  that, following the example of blessed Elizabeth, they may learn to set their affection on things above where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

¶ Or this:

Almighty and everlasting God, who didst enkindle the flame of  thy love in the heart of thy servant Elizabeth: Grant to us, thy humble servants, the same faith and power of love; that as we rejoice in her triumph, we may profit by her example; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

¶ Or this:

Almighty God, by whose grace thy servant Elizabeth of  Hungary recognized and honoured Jesus in the poor of this world: Grant that we, following her example, may with love and gladness serve those in any need or trouble, in the name and for the sake of Jesus Christ; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
