Towel Day
Posted by petrus, on May 25th, 2019
The Holy Spirit, by Giaquinto Corrado (1703-1765). From Wikimedia. O Lord our God, Ruler of the Universe, whose angels tell us to fear not, nor be dismayed: We beseech thee that we may always know the presence of thy Holy Comforter; that we should not panic in the face of all the dangers and temptations which beset us on the way, but may go forth in confidence, and come with joy and gladness unto thine eternal kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Written as a commemoration of Towel Day, May 25th; first used on Whitsunday, May 27th, 2012. Towel Day is the commemoration of the death of Douglas Adams, author of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and ensuing volumes. (Adams died May 11th, 2001, but the first Towel Day was held a fortnight later.)
