International Workers’ Day

Almighty God, who hast given unto us the Sabbath to be a day of rest, and who hast promised to be a swift witness against them that oppress the hireling in his wages: In thy mercy, grant the labourer to be strong, and let not his hand be weak, and let his work be rewarded. And if the hire of the labourers who have reaped down the fields be kept back by fraud, let the cries of them which have reaped enter into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth, for the labourer is worthy of his reward. Every man shall rejoice, and do good in his life; and every man shall eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, for that is the gift of God. Grant this, O Lord, we beseech thee, for the sake of thy son, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
