Saint Lucy
Posted by petrus, on December 13th, 2020
Saint Lucy, by Francesco del Cossa (c. 1430–c. 1477). From Wikimedia. Almighty God, who didst give to thy servant Lucy boldness to confess the Name of our Saviour Jesus Christ before the rulers of the world, and courage to die for this faith: Grant that we may always be ready to give a reason for the hope that is in us, and to suffer gladly for the sake of the same our Lord Jesus Christ, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
¶ Or this:
O God, who didst endue blessed Lucy, thy Virgin, with grace to witness a good confession, and to suffer gladly for thy name: Grant us, we beseech thee, so to follow her stedfastness that we may attain to the glorious fellowship of thy Saints; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
