The Choir of Men and Boys inaugurates the Holiday Season with a traditional Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols for Christmas, a charity event in aid of the Christ Child Society of Baltimore. Through scripture readings and beloved carols and hymns, the Carol Service retells the story of Christmas and the loving purpose of God.
This year’s service will include the following repertory:

- Manz: E’en so Lord Jesus, Quickly Come
- Ledger: Sussex Carol
- Tavener: The Lamb
- Willcocks: Gabriel’s Message
- Terry: Myn lyking
- Rutter: Sans Day Carol
- Darke: In the bleak midwinter
- Howells: Here is the little door
- Gardner: Tomorrow shall be my dancing day
- Hymn arrangements by Cleobury, Willcocks & others
The Carol Service begins at 6.00 PM and ordinarily lasts about 75 minutes. Visitors of all faiths are heartily welcomed, and all are invited to remain for a light reception following the service. Admission is free of charge, however a freewill offering will be received to benefit the Christ Child Society of Baltimore.
