O God, who didst illuminate the minds and warm the hearts of the faithful by the heavenly doctrine and example of Saint John Chrysostom: Call us by thy merciful grace to the knowledge of the truth, and put thy words in our mouth, that we may declare the unsearchable riches of Christ, who with thee and the Holy Ghost liveth and reigneth, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Grant, O Lord, we beseech thee, to all that minister in holy things the spirit of wisdom and courage wherewith Saint John Chrysostom ceased not to preach thy word, to reason with sinners, and to overcome manifold afflictions for the love of thy name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
