Almighty God, who filled the Apostles with the Holy Ghost by sending cloven tongues like as of fire: Grant that the dumpster fire which is the current manifestation of our nation’s political soul may become a guiding light for the betterment of our nation. Let the enmity burning in the hearts of our citizens become instead an ardor for peace and reconciliation. Let the indwelling of the Holy Ghost temper our thoughts, words, and deeds, lest we sin against thee by sinning against our fellow citizens. Let us learn from our discord and folly instead to show forth the light of thy good will burning within our hearts, that all men may glorify thy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom with thee and the Holy Ghost be all honor and glory, now, and forever. Amen.
