Grant, we beseech thee, Almighty God, that, like as blessed Athanasius contended earnestly for the faith of thy Consubstantial and Incarnate Word, so we may both believe in our hearts and confess with our mouth the Godhead of thy Son our Saviour Jesus Christ; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Almighty everlasting God, who raised up the blessed Athanasius as an outstanding champion of thy Son’s divinity: Mercifully grant that, rejoicing in his teaching and his protection, we may never cease to grow in knowledge and love of thee; through our Lord Jesus Christ, thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.
