Almighty God, giver of all grace: Spare us, in these fractious times, from the distractions of names, and titles of government, and the cries of this party or the other; but with the help of thy Holy Spirit let us stand for justice and mercy and truth and peace and true freedom, that these may be exalted in our nation; and for goodness, righteousness, meekness, temperance, peace and unity with God, and with one another, that these things may abound; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
